This two-day meeting will allow delegates the opportunity to witness discussion and presentations by experienced surgeons and experts from across Europe including Japan and the US, and be involved in the shaping of guidelines for safer laparoscopic liver surgery practice. Delegates are also invited to submit abstracts which will be considered for either poster or oral presentation during this two day meeting.
For trainee surgeons wishing to find out more about techniques in laparoscopic liver surgery and aspects on setting up a services, the pre-congress course on the 9th February will be held at Southampton University Hospital.

I am delighted to announce the programme for the 1st European Guidelines Meeting on Laparoscopic Liver Surgery (EGMLLS 2017) taking place from on the 10th – 11th February 2017 at the Hilton at Ageas Bowl, Southampton.
It is a great pleasure to invite you to this meeting which has been endorsed by the EAHPBA (European-African HPB Association) and and we look forward to seeing many old friends, and making new ones during this exciting and historic event.
A large number of international experts in open and Laparoscopic Liver Surgery are involved in the development of the future Guidelines for a safe and continuous expansion of Laparoscopic Liver Surgery in Europe and worldwide. A number of interesting topics including indications for surgery, patient selection, surgical techniques, complex clinical scenarios, training and future implementation will be discussed and the developed.
During the meeting you will be exposed to state of the art lectures and videos on surgical techniques as well as a number of “Meet the Professor” sessions.
On the 9th of February an EAHPBA endorsed technical course will take place at Southampton University Hospital Trust. During this course our expert speakers will present their surgical techniques, tips and tricks, which they have developed during their working experience.
